Irish Soccer Player Placement Policy

U-6 teams
All U-6 players will be assigned to a team by random drawing based on school they attend . Parents are not permitted to designate which team or a coach that a child is assigned.

U-8 teams
Moving from U-7 , the teams will now be single gender teams. If a U7 coach returns to coach a boys team this year, he/she will have all of the boys from their prior year's team returning to their new team. The girls from that previous team would go into a lottery to be placed on a U-girls team based first by school. If the U7 coach returns to coach a girls U8 team, the boys that were on your team last year will be placed in a lottery drawing for placement on the other U-8 boys teams. All players registered prior to June 15th will be guaranteed a spot on the team as a returning player. The lottery placement will be based on school they attend and number of positions that need to be filled on a team.

All other teams
Returning players, if registered by June15th will be guaranteed a returning spot on their prior team. If the player's parents request placement on a new team, the player might be placed in a lottery selection process for placement on other teams based on a space available and equalization of team size criteria.

Players that are returning from a one year absence from Irish Soccer Club will be placed in a lottery for placement on a team. They are not guaranteed placement back on their old team.
